Sugar Maple College Consulting’s Penny Klein works closely with students and their families to answer these questions and guide the process of selecting a college. With many years experience as a high school English teacher and school counselor, Penny is skilled at leading young adults through the challenging choices and work required.
With over 2,500 four-year colleges in the United States, it’s no wonder that students and families are overwhelmed with the choices before them. It’s a challenge to understand the application process, financial aid opportunities and where to put one’s time and energy. As many graduates have learned, top grades from a challenging curriculum are no longer enough. Colleges look for students who’ve shown a depth of character and personal growth as well as academic excellence.
Penny works with students throughout high school, getting to know them over time to get a real sense of who they are and what's important to them. That knowledge is paired with Penny's extensive knowledge of schools, their attributes and programs of study, and the college application process. The result is guidance that inspires confidence and excitement about the future - and relieves stress about the process.
